As a Registered Massage Therapist, Kati believes in the combined effects of massage therapy and movement based interventions. She is strongly passionate about education, both for her patient’s benefit as well as for her own. In her early 20’s she pursued a career as a personal trainer and discovered her love for working with people. Soon after beginning her career as a trainer she suffered a debilitating pelvis injury from playing competitive soccer and found herself in chronic pain for over 2 years. Through working with a physiotherapist in Vancouver she realized what it took, both mentally and physically to overcome pain. She was able to successfully rehabilitate after a year and returned to being active.

After this experience she realized the impact she could have working in an industry helping people feel their best as well as overcome their injuries. She returned to school to become a massage therapist. Kati graduated from WCCMT in 2015 and has been growing her knowledge and skills in the industry ever since.

With her previous background working alongside some of the best Physiotherapists in Vancouver and years of playing competitive, high level sports Kati brings a unique skill set to the industry. She believes it’s important to listen first, then provide a unique treatment to each of her patients. Kati uses a number of different techniques in her sessions. From movement, deep tissue massage to myofascial release. She tailors her sessions based on the needs of her patients. Her extensive knowledge of the body and movement allows her to provide pain relieving solutions at home or at work.

Her philosophy is simple, “Change is essential. Change the way you think and you change the way you move. Change the way you move and you change the way you feel.”

She looks forward to working with you and wishes you the very best on your healing journey.

After nearly two decades of experience teaching yoga and personal training, I finally decided to expand my knowledge to become a Registered Massage Therapist in 2021, graduating with honours from VCMT. I am currently working on completing all levels of Cranial Sacral Therapy which I hope to bring into my massage practice in the near future. I will continue to seek more knowledge to better myself and evolve as a therapist

I enjoy helping clients feel good in their own bodies and will often give homecare exercises for their specific concerns to help them feel empowered and an active participant in their healing journey.

The style of massage I have developed has a meditative flowing quality to it with the intention to make the transition from one treatment technique to the next feel as seamless as possible. I enjoy the ability of being creative with my treatments as I see massage therapy as an artform. I incorporate myofascial release, trigger point release work when necessary, joint play and gentle joint mobilizations when indicated, assisted and passive stretching, static pressure techniques and of course, Swedish massage techniques into a relaxing and effective treatment.

Outside of work, my passion has always been for world travel. My adventurous spirit has taken me to many beautiful places such as Central and South America, India, Asia and Scandinavia. At home, I love being in nature, gardening, swimming in the ocean, hiking in the forest, yoga and spending time with my 2 beautiful daughters and my three legged black cat named Erik Odin.

I was born and raised in Williams Lake. After attending University, traveling and much contemplation I decided to follow my passion and sign up for school to become a massage therapist. The human body has always interested me and I finally found a career that allows me to apply my interest to my work. Two grueling years later I graduated from VCMT. It was one of the best experiences I have ever had. It was the first time in my life I was able to work towards something I loved, with a group of like-minded individuals. My teachers promoted overall health, encouraging us to solve the problem instead of looking for short term answers. I believe that in order to function at an optimal level, healthy lifestyle choices and education are key. The courses I’ve taken since then have given me some amazing tools for assessment, treatment and prevention. Some of these courses include yoga therapy, barefoot training, sacral and facet treatment and infant massage. My main interest lies with the relationship between musculoskeletal injuries and the nervous system, and I tend to lean towards deep tissue massage, but am proficient in relaxation as well. I take a multidisciplinary approach to my practice, and to my own health, and I look forward to helping you achieve your goals.
